Here. It’s not our bullpen’s fault that they’re not top of the ACC caliber. It’s not this coaching staff’s fault. What I was trying to communicate here is that the grand opening night was not representative of how competitive this team has been. I think their effort is just fine. I think they lack confidence which is tough because they’ve been losing and that often bites them late in games not being able to close.

What Inwas getting at was I hoped that this would be a night where we showed so many fans that came out that we ARE improving. What I meant was this stinks to have so many people there and they got such a stinker of a game. I want this staff, this team and this program to succeed, and I’m just saying that maybe something could be done to encourage people to come back.

I loved taking my kids there for no cost. And I’ll take them and spend the $20 once in a while for ACC weekend games when we can but I’m just saying it’s unfortunate what happened last night, not really wanting to blame anyone on the team, I know games like that happen to every team once in a while.

You’re right though, I’m frustrated but shouldn’t single out any player’s effort here. Most of them are playing hard and it’s showing in most gamesand that’s a credit to this staff. That’s sort of what I was trying to say here, hoping we don’t have too many people who sat through that to just abandon the program when I really believe our best days are ahead.
